Comic mischief: Not much to say, other than there is mischief, and it is comical. Though, in all seriousness, there are two main characters--well, more like sidekicks. One is Daxter; half otter, half weasel. And "Pecker" (I know); half parrot, half monkey. They fight like crazy throughout the game. I'ts pretty much a cartoony, if not a bit crude, feud between the two.
Mild language: Daxter states "Remind me not to p**s you off!" referring to Jak's dark eco powers. Jak states "Where the h**l am I!?" A side character tells Daxter to "Get your squirrely a** out of here!" Upon meeting a main female character, she forcefully asks Jak & Daxter, "Who the h**l are you two?!" The main villian, who is annoyed that his lacky didn't finish a job, tells him, "We'd have his royal a**s pinned to a wall!" referring to the target. Mad at Jak & Daxter, a side character states, "What the h**l did you two do?!" Later in the conversation, Jak replies, "Hey! We kicked the baron's (main villian) a**!" Daxter tells Pecker to "Go bite yourself" Pecker responds with, "That's it! Now you've really p**sed me off!" A side character tells Jak to "Get your skinny a** over here!" After being ambushed by Metal Heads (enemy), a female charcacter states, "D**n!" Also, there is one misuse of God.
Mild Violence: Most of the violence in this game ranges from cartoony to realistic cartoony; that is, the violence in this game is very chaotic and there is a lot going on, but it's nothing worse than a PG-13 movie in cartoon form. The main character fights humans, and monsters called the "Metal Heads," but mostly the latter.
The story also has a mature and somewhat sarcastic feel, and even though there a quite a few comic moments spread throughout, it's still a bit dramatic (sometimes corny) and intense.
Suggestive themes: All female characters in this game wear tight and/or revealing clothing, they also have exaggerated bust and hip sizes; there are "breast physics," so there is a bit of bounce here and there. Also there are a couple of paintings of women in bikinis, posing in a provocative manner.
There are several scenes throughout the game that depict Jak & Daxter flirting with the main female characters. But it's mostly done in a somewhat light, comical manner.
When Jak & Daxter first meet Pecker, he tells them his name. They start to laugh. Reading their thoughts, Pecker stats, "Yes, yes. I know. My mother was very vindictive."
Daxter talks about how he would build a palace with a chocolate fountain. He and his harem of women (the world's largest in number, according to him) would bathe in it.
Referring to one of the main female characters, Daxter tells Jak, "I bet you would love to pin some medals on her chest! Eh...Jak?!"
Daxter starts to "inspect" some bottles behind a bar. After you hear him drink the contents of several, he re-apears drunk, slurring, and then starts to sing a nonsensical song.
On the last cutscene, a female side character signs something to Daxter. He asks Pecker (her translator) what she said. Pecker tells him she said, "Something about rubber tubing and parts of your mother. Trust me, you don't want to know.
Crude humor: The ESRB didn't mention this in their rating. There is a character that Jak & Daxter work for named Krew. Because he's so obese, he has to use a zero gravity glider to get around. He is very grotesque looking, and speaks as if he's always out of breath.
Krew gives Jak & Daxter the objective of going down into the sewers. Daxter starts to complain and states, "Let me guess. Dank, murky waters? Reeks worse than your breath at an oyster fest? And, of course, weapons more lethal than your ever so tighty-whiteys on a hot summer day!?"
