"E" for Everyone: Seeing as this is a simulated game of pool, there is absolutely no objectional content in this game. Nuff said.

Content-wise: kids 6- could watch you play the game no problem (it's pool), and may even want to try, just don't expect them to be able to play adequately, as the controls are pretty complex. And what 6 year-old is interested in a simulation of pool anyway?

Difficulty-wise: This game has single player, local multiplayer for up to four people on one console, and, of course, online play. The single/multi-player modes available on the main menu are: 8-ball, 9-ball, Cutthroat (which is where you have to sink your opponent's colored balls before they sink yours), Classic (which is 8-ball with colors instead of numbers), 14.1 continuous (where the first to sink and call 30 shots wins), and 3-ball (where you try to sink 3 balls in as little shots as possible). In addition to those modes, single player also has: Trickshot (what it sounds like), Time Trial (where you have to sink a pattern of balls in the allotted time), and Golf (which has you trying to sink one ball in the desired pocket, underpar and around obstacles).

In the options menu you can set the level of auto aim from the easiest (which will have an arrow showing exactly where your shot will go) to off (which means you'll have to eyeball it). Once you are playing a game the controls are as follows: The directional-pad controls the camera angle; move the ball with the Right analog- stick; move the pool stick with the Left analog-stick; change the power of the shot by holding down the Y button and adjusting with the Left analog-stick; change the angle of the pool stick by holding down the X button and adjusting with the Left analog-stick; and finally, change the ball spin by holding down the B button and adjust with the Left analog-stick.

Difficulty-wise, as you can see, the controls are pretty complex, and pool itself isn't very easy, even with the easy aim on. So, depending on how interested and/or patient your kid is, he/she may or may not want to play anyway. Read the next category for more on what age I think it's good for.

Fun for: This is a simulated game of pool, so I think pool in general leans more towards adults than kids. Although kids 10+ could of course have fun, if they like pool in the first place.

Closing comment: Well, there isn't much to say, it's pool and it's relatively fun. If you or your kid like the game of "Billiards" (that's how they say it in England :0) , get it. This is the best thing since real pool--except it isn't, and you aren't standing, or holding a stick in your hand, or really hitting balls, or well, it isn't REAL, but it's better than not having a pool table, kinda. Difficulty-wise, I could see some kids 7+ to 10+ play it, It just depends on how interested they are in pool. So (overall), I recommend this game for ages 10+.
